For Team Leaders and Supervisors: BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Team Leading
Most of us are given our first opportunity in management through internal promotion. This brings great benefits to the employer, as you are developing your own staff, employing someone you know and who knows the company. Along with these benefits there are also challenges for the first-time manager in making the transition from team member to team leader.
For the new and developing manager, the BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Team Leading offers a mix of workshops covering the essential skills and techniques, delivered in a professional but relaxed environment and coupled with work based assignments, coaching and feedback. Content includes effective communication, delegation and time management. There are three core modules on the key principles of team leading, professional development and developing working relationships. Delegates also choose an additional module from nine options, including leading and managing meetings, developing a team and the principles of decision-making.
Course fee: £1,100 + VAT. Including BTEC certification and registration
This is already value for money, with three days of workshops and tutor support to achieve the BTEC certificate over a 3-6 month period. However, if you qualify for government funding through our Skills Funding Agency contract you may well be able to access the BTEC Level 2 adult apprenticeship in team leading, which includes the BTEC certificate in team leading, functional skills and short modules in employment law and reflective learning. We are happy to discuss this option with you for participants who do not already hold a degree or Level 4 qualification.
